Before & After Plasma Coated Manifold in Glacier Black

The service life and performance of worn or heat-affected manifolds and exhaust components can be significantly enhanced through comprehensive surface preparation followed by the application of a specialist plasma/metal coating system. This advanced process helps to minimise heat transfer, provides long-term corrosion protection, and reduces the effects of thermal stress and metal fatigue commonly associated with high-temperature exhaust systems.

The applied metal coating forms an exceptionally robust protective layer, capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 800°C across a wide range of materials. It is particularly well suited to high-performance and high-output engines, where exhaust temperatures are substantially higher. Under certain conditions, the coating can reduce heat loss by as much as 10%, while shielding components from oxidation, corrosion, thermal cycling, and structural degradation — all of which contribute to premature failure.

Plasma/metal coating is especially recommended for high-heat exhaust components, including turbocharger housings, exhaust manifolds, and both ferrous and non-ferrous parts that demand extended durability. Beyond exhaust systems, the coating is also suitable for underbody components, chassis sections, wheel arches, and selected suspension parts, providing effective protection in demanding operating environments.

Motorcycle exhaust downpipes and other exposed components that are regularly subjected to road debris, grit, moisture, and salt contamination also benefit greatly from this coating system. By forming a resilient barrier against environmental damage, the plasma/metal coating helps maintain component integrity and appearance, even in harsh road and weather conditions.
